Ambassadors 

What is an ambassador?

The Burford Fair Ambassador represents our community throughout the year at various events. It's an excellent opportunity for young adults to network, grow, and have fun! Ambassadors will have the opportunity to attend workshops with other ambassadors from across the province and compete at the CNE to become the CNE Ambassador of the Fairs.

Junior Program Components - 14-16yo

Junior contestants will be judged on their ‘Me Board’ and 1-2min slide show / speech. 

Presentation Topics: 

• Why is the Burford Fair special to you?

•  Your favourite fair memory

• How can young people help their fair / community?

A monetary prize of $200 will be awarded to the new Junior Ambassador

Senior Program Components - 17-24yo

Senior contestants will present a slide show on their sponsor, complete an interview (panel of three judges), deliver a 2-3 min speech and provide an impromptu answer on an given subject.

Speech Topics:  

• Canadian Agriculture – How it has changed over the years

• The importance of volunteers and/or volunteering

• Careers in Agriculture

• Burford Fair – How special is your home fair?

A monetary prize of $500 will be awarded to the new Senior Ambassador
